DIY Event Ideas to Make Your Next Corporate Event the Most Memorable One

Last Updated November 19, 2021

We all know that the key to a successful event is to make it meaningful for your guests. You can do this by adding thoughtful touches that will allow them to see themselves in the memories from the event and create new ones as well. To help you out, we’ve created some DIY corporate event ideas so you can plan an unforgettable party

DIY Event Ideas to Make Your Next Corporate Event the Most Memorable

Have a Fun Theme

Your event could be a great opportunity to share your company’s values and culture with the attendees. If you’re struggling with creative themes, take inspiration from popular films or TV shows that fit your brand. You can visit LogoClothz.com to get customized tablecloths for your themed event. For example, if you work in an industry where there are lots of engineers, hosting an Apollo 13 themed party might be ideal.

For some companies, a fun theme might work better than an educational one. If you’re hosting the event after hours, consider having your guests dress up in character and come as their favorite movie or TV personality. This is also a good idea if there are lots of kids attending!

Host an Outdoor Activity

Outdoor corporate events are a great way to get your employees out of the office and into nature. If you’re hiring caterers, it will be cheaper if they don’t have to move equipment indoors at lunchtime or when guests start leaving for home. Outdoors also means less chance of food contamination!

If you work in an industry where employees are often inside all day, like accounting or banking, it can be fun to take them outside for the first time. For example, some companies hire out paintball courses and set up team-building games. Not only is this a great bonding experience but your guests will also return to work with more energy and a new perspective on their role in the company. Create a DIY basketball court on any flat surface available by measuring, drawing lines then painting them in white chalk on the ground. You can also use tape or even paint to create boundaries for playing ball.

This is also a great idea if you need to give some employees time off from work, for instance, while they’re going through personal difficulties or recovering from an illness. It’s healthy to get out of your normal routine sometimes!

Have a Unique Venue

If you’re hosting an event for your employees, consider going to them. It might seem like more of a hassle than organizing something on-site but it can be well worth the extra effort. First of all, employees who live far away won’t have to take time off work or travel expenses so they’ll appreciate the gesture.

Secondly, if employees are traveling by car or public transport they’ll have enough time to unwind before the event starts and won’t be stressed out when speakers start talking! Finally, it’s a great way to get your employees off of their usual work schedule for once because you’re allowing them to go somewhere new and meet up with their colleagues in a different environment. This change of scenery will remind them that there’s more to life than work!

Keep It Simple

If you’re planning an event for employees that are working in the same office every day, consider keeping it simple.  You can create darts by using a string and rubber bands. Take the string and tie it to two nails, then stretch out another piece of string in between them that is also attached with nails. Attach some rubber bands on one end (you will want at least three) and you’re all set!

Another thing to consider is the distance your employees are willing to travel. If any of them live in rural areas or on the other side of town, it might be difficult for everyone involved so you might have to scale down your plans accordingly.

Get Inspired

If you’re hosting an event for your employees, it’s a great time to brainstorm DIY ideas that will make the most of their talents. For instance, if someone in sales is talented at baking cupcakes they could whip up some treats for everyone! Not only does this save money but it also creates a sense of community in the office which can be hard to achieve when employees are working remotely.

If you work with a lot of creative people, consider hiring out an art studio for half a day and encouraging everyone to express themselves in some way! Alternatively, it could even be fun if everyone collaborates on one big DIY project or gets together to make cards for their friends and family.
