How To Install Bi-Fold Door Blinds

So you’re testing out your DIY skills out by trying to install blinds onto your bi-fold doors, luckily this isn’t too much of a complex task for you to do. So after speaking to the bifold blinds experts at DotcomBlinds and taking on some of their top tips, we’ve put together this handy explainer on how to install your new bifold blinds.

Now before you go about putting up a set of bi fold blinds, you’re going to want to go online and find a set of bi-fold blinds in material and color that you like. Once you’ve purchased your bi-fold blinds online and they have arrived with you, it’s time to unbox your blinds and crack on with the job at hand.

How To Install Bi Fold Door Blinds

Note: For this DIY task you won’t need any tools at all, just a set of blinds, a bifold door, and your hands.

Step 1

Unbox your bi-fold blind package and remove blinds from the packaging. Make sure to check that there are no faults with your blind before attempting to install.

Step 2

Lay down a blanket or sheet of cardboard in front of your bi-fold door, installing the blind can cause dust to come loose from the door, so it’s better to be safe with your floor.

Step 3

Pick up the bi-fold blind from the top end and gently slide the top left rail into the top left side of the door, making sure that the tab slides between the door’s glass and the rubber gasket.

Step 4

Now slide the top right end of the rail into the top right corner of the bi-fold door, again making sure the tab goes in between the glass and the gasket.

Step 5

Make sure now that both sides of the blind are in the door, make sure that the headrail is level and that the headrail is at the top of the door.

Step 6

Ease both of the bottom bar tabs into the rubber gasket in a similar fashion to steps 3 and 4, then slide into place at the bottom of the window.

Step 7

Use the sliding tab to lift the blind up and down the window to check it operates correctly.

And congratulations, you’ve successfully installed a bi-fold blind into your bi-fold door, if you’re installing blinds on multiple doors, simply just repeat the above 7 steps for each set of blinds you install. Now sit back and enjoy your handy work.
